When you hear the word hypnosis, people are on guard, they think that it’s either fake or something dangerous. It’s not as dangerous as ‘Get Out’ would have you believe (when used in a positive way) and it does work. Let me explain.

You remember in an earlier post (read here) when I mentioned that I was suffering from some negative thoughts? Well, a few days later I couldn’t shake those thoughts.

I decided to train my brain to let go of those thoughts, in other words, I hypnotized my self. That’s all hypnosis is making your brain do what you want it to do.

Now just to clear up somethings, you can’t unknowingly be hypnotized (like in ‘Get Out’). You cant have an idle conversation then someone snaps their fingers and you are at their whim. Some people can’t even be hypnotized. You need to be in a relaxed state and a willing participant. Also, you can snap yourself out of it It’s Your Brain!

After my hypnosis session, now when I have a negative thought I’m taken back to my session and it calms and relaxes me and before I know it the thought is gone.  According to WebMD, Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy (the correct term) has been shown to help with..

  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • phobias
  • Obesity
  • Asthma
  • Quitting Smoking
  • irritable bowel Syndrom

If you’re interested in trying I recommend Training Your Mind To Let Go Of Thoughts That Don’t Serve You by Suzanne Robichaud. It’s the one I used and it works wonders, remember to leave yourself open to the idea of change and it will come to you.

Have you ever been around someone and just got a bad vibe? Like you walked into an empty alley and it sent chills down your spine? The little voice in your head that tells you when danger is near, It’s your intuition. It sends you subtle clues when to avoid a bad situation.

I’ve been working on getting in touch with my inner self because it’s the year of self-care. So I’m getting stricter about who and what I allow in my life, including people that give off a bad vibe. My one rule is “if I’m second guessing chilling with them I probably shouldn’t be.”

To give you an example of how toxic things can be. An old friend of mine mentioned they wanted to stop by while they visited the city. Let’s just say their tone wasn’t some much as a friendly “I want to see you again.” More of an “I’m coming so get ready.” As soon as I agreed to let them come over I regretted it. I began having negative thoughts and feelings infiltrating my once peaceful mind. Instead of finding joy in their visit, I was met with anger and depression.

When they started arguing over a message I didn’t respond to,  I was done. They were obviously an ill-spirit and to let them into my space would be unwise, just the thought of them coming made me feel unsure of myself. They brought up some old feelings and memories that tore at my esteem and rattled me to the core.

I decided my spirit was not in a place to take their negative aura so I declined the visit. I knew my sanctuary was more important than seeing them.

You have to remember to put yourself first even if it hurts or is not pleasant. You need to kill unnecessary negative vibes. Life brings enough of them without your “friends” adding more.

Let that shit go…

I hate when I look tired, everyone thinks I’m sick. I don’t always use eye cream even though I should.

 

What I do instead of eye cream is an eye mask. Its basically concentrated treatment of what you should do daily with an eye moisturizer.

My go to is my little pet eye patch by Tony Moly.

 

One it’s adorable, and two eye masks help moisturize and prevent signs of aging with the skin around the eyes. As well as create a more awake look thus preventing the tired look.

Plus you can do them whenever like when you get off of work or when you check your Instagram.

Also, the results are virtually instant you see them maybe 5 minutes after you take them off and it only gets better after treatment. Love it.
