Dry Skin Prevention Kit: For Fighting Acne and Weather Changes

Dry Skin Prevention Kit: For Fighting Acne and Weather Changes

My breakout from my last period is still going strong. It’s one of the most annoying things about being a girl, once a month come on now. The seasons are also changing here so it doesn’t help that the blistering cold is on the way. With me trying to get rid of my acne and fight my skin drying out from the weather it’s taxing. Never fear though I have created a perfect Dry Skin Prevention Kit to keep you moisturized and treat your skin issues.

So let’s get to the nitty-gritty. How am I supposed to treat while trying to hydrate my skin? Get hydrating treatment, of course, that’s the most important thing. There are multiple options out there that can get this accomplished for you.

One of my favorite ways to get treatment and moisture is by using dry oils. Dry oils are oils that both moisturize the skin but it drys solid after a long period exposed to air. So you don’t have to worry about it just sitting on the skin and clogging your pores.

Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Acne Treatment Face Oil.

Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil, 0.5 Fl Oz

My favorite as you know is by Sunday Riley. Her U.F. O. ultra clarifying, acne treatment face oil. It’s a dry oil that has 1.5 Salicylic Acid in it so it does help dry skin as well as replenish any moisture that is lost. It also has cucumber seed oil in it so it helps to smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles. The price point for a small bottle isn’t bad, the big one is a splurge but when I tell you it’s my baby, it’s so my baby.

Next up is The Ordinary Cold-Press Rose Hip seed oil.

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 30ml

I love The Ordinary brand in general. Do you remember when I did the Korean Skin Care Routine? That’s when I first discovered the brand and I’ve been in love with it ever since! Their drying oil isn’t as harsh as Sunday Riley’s so if you want something a little gentler, this would be it. This one is perfect for addressing any hydrating concerns you might have and in turn, will help with any fine lines or wrinkles.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

This is amazing, simply amazing! I love the luxurious feel of this oil and it is super hydrating. The main thing, of course, is that Vitamin C is great for brightening up the skin and of course hydrating the skin to help boost skin elasticity. If you’re wondering what Squalane is. it’s a compound that helps lock in moisture to the skin and we all know that means its perfect to help with dry skin.

General Moisture

Even though you might think that the oil is enough I like to add additional moisture. Sometimes the next day, when I wake up my skin will feel tight and dry. Just to prevent that from happening I add an additional layer of hydration.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 30ml

For example, my go-to again is The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid serum that helps bind moisture to the skin.

If I don’t have time for that or just don’t I will add a hydrating sleeping mask like Fresh Rose hydrating sleeping mask. It’s really helpful to get in the habit of using sleeping masks because it’s you’re all in one pretty much (treatment, hydration) but don’t normalize it because you can still be missing additional detoxing treatments.

And finally, for your dry skin prevention kit, you’ll need something for your lips. I, of course, use Laneige sleeping lip mask. This mask keeps me hydrated throughout the day and then some, so I usually don’t need anything else.

All these are my go-to products when my skin feels dey or we get into the chappy season and my skin dries out, or I use too many harsh products on my skin. There is no in-between!
