If you’re not familiar with Turmeric it’s an amazing spice that you can use for pretty much anything. When it comes to beauty it does a lot. Identifiable by its mustard hue this spice has great anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits. It’s very calming condition-rich so it’s great for people who have rosacea and eczema while also preventing while preventing the spread of acne. This is what makes turmeric great ingredients for dark spot fading masks especially if you’re acne prone.

How Does Turmeric Lighten Dark Spots?

According to skincare.org because dark spots are caused by excessive production of melanin, it causes an unbalanced complexion. Turmeric contains curcumin it regulates the production of excess melanin that causes dark spots.

This recipe is one of my favorites to use when I have a breakout and after treatment, I have some leftover dark spots. My skin scars really easily. I still have a scar on my arm from when my friend burnt me with the flat iron years ago. That one won’t fade however the ones on my face are leaving slowly but surely.

With this mask, it contains:

  • Lemon juice a classic skin lightener,
  • plain greek yogurt it has lactic acid it removes dead skin cells.
  • and a classic one Aloe that helps prevent breakouts, it’s anti-inflammatory so it calms any pimples you might have.
