Best Buys Of September: Soaps and Beauty

Best Buys Of September: Soaps and Beauty

I’ve recently started back shopping. Not just for household goods but like trying out new items just for the hell of trying it. I’m empowering my curios mind again and I have to say.. it has some hits and some misses. I want to share them with you because if you’re still feeling your way through this thing called life or you feel as if you’ve gotten too comfortable with looking ugly in public. Me too girl and we’re going to get through this together.

In this segment I want to talk about, you guessed it, my favorite beauty buys this month. Some of my previous favorite buys turned out to be some duds I’m probably not going to get again, and I’ll tell you why.

Lush Body Butter

I love moisturizing but I don’t care about doing it every day. I mean I get tired too. So if I just want to take a quick shower and go to bed then that’s what I want to do. But the dryness is not what I’m with. So when I found a soap that would hydrate me as I washed I was all for it. At first, I tried scrubby from lush and I loved it! I was nice and hydrated and didn’t have to moisturize. I wanted to get some more and I tried some versions of the soap and yes they still moisturized however it wasn’t the same.

The soaps melt, fast. I’m talking about in a week or two the soap is melted if you take a warm shower. Which I do. Also, the oil is a shea butter mix that doesn’t drain well. So your shower can start looking pretty gross and be slippery. Lastly, if you do decide to get the soap, don’t let them be your primary soap, it’s a conditioner, doesn’t clean just moisturizes.

Fenty Beauty Setting Powder

Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr’ Setting Powder

I do love Rihanna but her foundation just isn’t for me. We don’t all have flawless skin and I don’t like my flaws to show. Her foundation is light and buildable but I’d rather spackle my face. I wrote her off until I saw her Pro filtr’ setting powder for 18 dollars and I needed a setting powder so, why not? Ok ya’ll so I tried it and I do like it very much.

My foundation stays on all day and doesn’t crease or end up looking cakey. The powder feels soft going on which is something weird and wonderful to me. I’m all for it. Although the puff that comes with it is thin and cheap it’s ok, I don’t think it’s for actual use. The actual product though, yes I will be getting the big bottle of this.

I think this is it for my first segment. Hope you guys like it let me know what you think.
