Did you know it takes 500 years for a toothpaste tube to decompose? That bend the first tube of toothpaste that was invented in 1886 is still out there somewhere! That’s ridiculous, furthermore most tubes arent recyclables. So they’re just out there being toxic. This is so common such human nature to use things once and then be done with them not caring what the lasting effects are. Earlier this year I decided to become more environmentally conscious. I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint and live a more natural life. This is why I went vegan and why I use more natural ingredients and compostable or recyclable products starting with my toothpaste choices. I composed a shortlist of the ones I’ve tried.
Tom’s Brand Toothpaste is one that I was wasn’t sure about. It’s in a recyclable tube, something that I didn’t think was possible. The product is an all-natural brand and it feels amazing I missed actual toothpaste as I’ve been using tablets for months and I feel like my breath stays fresher longer. Also, plaque that would be on my teeth stays away longer even when I brush my teeth at night there’s not a lot of grime in the morning and I appreciate that. There are a few different types of toothpaste’s that Tom’s makes, here is a link to the one that I have.
This was my first tablet toothpaste and it was different, in a good way, they tell you to chew it up with your front teeth. That was the weird part, I also had charcoal so seeing the black foam around my mouth was kind of funny. The tablets come in a tin can which is nice it’s reusable or you can recycle it, up to you I think I’m going to make mine into a eucalyptus candle. There are two kinds of Hello toothpaste tablets one has fluoride the other has charcoal, I used the charcoal one here’s a link if you would like the same.
This one I liked because it came in a cardboard tube so I can just toss it in my compost. The toothpaste doesn’t require anything special you just chew and you get a lot of toothpaste once you do. Out of the 3, this was probably my least favorite because there’s a piece of paper on the inside and the tablets get stuck in there. However it was very whitening, I feel like my teeth got so white after using these. Unfortunately, the exact one I used isn’t available but they have a similar style here you can use and you won’t have to worry about the paper thing.
