The Coolest Thing Netflix Has Done #EVER: Black Mirror Bandersnatch

I couldn’t get into Bird Box I couldn’t. I could, however, get into Black Mirror. Netflix I really have to say you’ve outdone yourself with this interactive movie.

You remember those choose your own destiny books you read when you were little? Netflix turned it into a bloody show! I know all through out you choose the characters destiny.

The story is in the UK around the ’80s and focuses around Stephan a young ma who is creating a video game based off the book Bandersnatch. He’s also suffering from mental illness stemming from the tragic death of his mother.

The show starts off telling you how you choose the characters story and the commands. Then we start off hearing about Stephan’s life and d giving you the background story of Stephan. Soon you’re presented multiple choice options that influence the story’s outcome.

All these are possibilities and it’s up to you on what he does and who he becomes is all up to you. I freaking love it. I’m still watching it and I don’t want to give too much away, because there are only two options and if you choose mine and I really want you to watch this grown breaking show for yourself. It’s beyond amazing.

Mother nature is so equipped to handle even our toughest problems its mindboggling on why we keep trying to destroy her. I have learned how to channel mother natures healing powers to help with my breathing issues.

I suffer from asthma, so dusty or overly polluted areas cause me to have a flare-up, not to mention my sinuses always do me in. The air that I’m surrounded with can make or break me, I used to always have an inhaler on me at all times. That was until I learned how to keep my flare-ups at bay.

I keep Air purifying plants in my home.

What is an Air Purifying plant?

According to an article from Live Science states scientists found that plants can absorb many gasses besides carbon dioxide including Benzene(found in some plastics, cigarette smoke, fabrics) formaldehyde which is found in some cosmetics, detergents, fabric cleaner and carpet cleaner. There’s a longer list of VOCs here if you would like to read up on them. But some of these pollutants are linked to asthma, nausea, and chronic illness like cancer.

 

I couldn’t believe it all of those things are floating around in the air and we’re just inhaling them wondering why we’re getting worse and not better. While medical attention might be necessary, there are always alternatives.

  1. Have some plants in your home. Use the power of nature to eliminate those toxins from your environment so you can breathe easier. Read my article Creating Your Indoor Jungle to find easy to care for plants.

      2. Clean. No brainer, but it does help remove all the dead skin cells.

      3. And cleanse open a window and light incense while saying a quick                  prayer for good health. You’ll feel the air and environment appear                  lighter.

While these may lessen your need to take medicine, please seek medical attention if it is needed.

Mindfulness: What Is It And How Do You Do It?

Slowly but surely we as a people are literally killing ourselves. Our on the go lifestyle is stressing us out and makes us go through life wondering what the heck we did with our time. 

There is hope. The #MindfulnessMovement is growing steam with every inspirational quote and every head standing yogi. But what does it mean to be mindful? 

Mindfulness is taking the time to slow down and focus on one task at a time. Really appreciating and enjoying the moment and the time we are in right now.  

I know it’s easier said than done. How do we do this when we have so much already ready to do but remember that’s exactly what mindfulness is here to stop. That rush, rush, rush lifestyle and let you breathe. 

Start A Morning Or Nightly Ritual. 

It doesn’t have to be a long extensive process. However, you want to signal your brain in a stress-free way that the day is over or is about to begin. Something as little as a quick meditation in the morning and writing down a positive affirmation in a journal in the morning will change your entire mood. You could also take a bit longer in the shower at night and have a nice cup of tea in the evening while reading a good book is something small you can do that helps increase your mindfulness. 

Remembe To Breath In Stressful Situations

Life can be stressful and hectic, it’s life no one said it would be easy. However, when it gets stressful; remember that this moment will too pass. Breathing is known to help calm the mind and can help with stress. It’s ok to take time to breathe for 10 seconds, 5 seconds in through the nose and 5 seconds out through the mouth. It helps so much.
