Are You In The Slow Fashion Movement?
With time flying by so quickly (wasn’t it just April🤔) it’s not hard to imagine why slow fashion is coming, into play.
Slow fashion is the opposite of fast fashion. So instead of buying everything in stock in every color because being boho is so your vibe this summer. You stop and pause and make use of what you have in your closet. If you do choose to go shopping you shop with a little more integrity and care.
Slow fashion connects more to environmental awareness and longevity of a piece instead of buying it just because you can. This season we’re looking for more well made, long lasting, pieces rather than just trendy pieces you’ll never wear again.
Personally, I think it’s a great idea! I’m glad it’s becoming fashionable to be ethical and environmentally friendly. It’ll raise awareness of non-ethical companies that don’t treat their employees friendly or use real animal skin/fur in their products and sway consumers away from them. As well as inspire companies to use local materials and resources to create their products. It’ll also help create more of a market for sustainable fabric and vintage pieces.
H&M already does something like this with their H&M Group. It’s a program that recycles fabric from used clothes and creates new items of clothes. You can donate any use textiles or clothing to any H&M clothes and get a discount off a new purchase from their Conscious line, cool right?
Are you down with this new trend?
