Bra Problems : Should I Hand Wash Or Machine Wash Bras?
This is a very common question, what’s the best way to care for your bras. Each bra that you get is an investment in yourself and you want to care and protect your investment. How do you care and wash your bras?
Let’s first go into the actual care speaking mainly of the wash and care for your bras. Ideally, you want to wear your bra no more than 3 days in a row (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday rest on Thursday) If you wear your bra for a full week or more it’s not the worst thing in the world but it does shorten the lifespan of the bra in general.
When it comes to washing your bras it’s better for you to hand wash your bras. That way you prevent them twisting and turning or getting tangled in the washer with your other clothes. It’s not the worst thing in the world if they get accidentally tossed in the wash every now and again, you just don’t want to make a habit of it. Even once can cause wires and hooks to bend and break.
If you must put them in the wash but them in a wash bag to prevent them twisting or turning then you want to protect them in some way. The mesh bag does keep the bras safe in a sense but it’s not full proof.
I can only speak from my experiences. I used to put my bra in the washer regularly and I also experienced issues with the wire regularly. However, there is one bra that I wear almost everyday my stunning Support from Soma. I’ve had it now for a year. So I highly recommend that you get in the habit of hand washing. The time you spend washing each bra you’re adding months to the life of your bra. It’s worth it.
I know you might not always have time but at least try it with one bra and I promise you’ll see the difference.
